A mall was ransacked by an unidentified suspect who stole P450,600 worth of cash and goods in Brgy. 5-year-old drowns on Black Saturday

A 5-year-old boy drowned in a river in Linaw Bubong, Brgy. San Miguel, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, at 2 p.m. on Black Saturday, March 30. The 5-year-old boy, whose name was withheld by the police, was a resident of Sitio Cabugao, Brgy. Haguimit in La Carlota. Investigation revealed that the victim with his older siblings and his father went to the river to feed their carabao. The siblings were warned not to go in the river but when their father briefly left them, they went swimming. The victim accidentally went to a deep portion of the river that caused his drowning. He was brought to Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital where he was declared dead.*

A laborer was shot dead by an unidentified person in a banana plantation in Sitio Cross, Brgy. Mansablay, Isabela, Negros Occidental,  on  Wednesday, March 27. Killed was a   39-year-old laborer, whose name was withheld by the police,  of Sitio Kantinakip, Brgy. Sikatuna, Isabela. The police said  while the victim was walking through a dark pathway in the a banana plantation he was suddenly shot by the  unidentified person. The victim was hit in the  stomach. He was brought to Ignacio L. Arroyo Memorial District Hospital but was declared dead, while the suspect fled in an unknown direction. Recovered from the crime scene was one improvised shotgun.*
