The man caught in a viral video dumping garbage on the sidewalk in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City, has been fined.The person said he was paid by others to throw garbage in the area and he did not know it was wrong, Ma. Fe Trespuentes, Bacolod Environment and Natural Resources Office head, was quoted as saying in a post on the Isugid kay Mayor Facebook page.The man said he had dumped garbage in the area eight times.The violator will do community service at the Burgos Market and Barangay Villamonte officials will monitor his compliance.The BENRO urged the public to collect evidence and report violators of the city's cleanliness ordinance.*

The skeletal remains of a man who went missing on May 5 was found in a mountainous area in Purok 1, Brgy Camansi, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Saturday, May 31.The skeletal remains of alias “Joejie”, 19, of Sitio Bayog, Brgy Camansi, were found by alias “Gino”, 57, a laborer.Gino was collecting firewood when he smelled an unpleasant odor and when he checked where it was coming from, he discovered the human skeletal remains.The skeletal remains were positively identified by alias “Joey”, 43, the victim’s father through his T-shirt, shorts, and slippers.The family of the victim believed that he was suffering from depression.*
