The Monetary Board (MB) has issued a moratorium on increases in InstaPay and PESONet fees for person-to-person fund transfers.Banks and e-money issuers (EMIs) participating in InstaPay and PESONet, however, may waive or reduce their current fees.Meanwhile, participating banks and EMIs whose transfer fees are currently waived may charge these fees again at the level prior to such waiver of fees.Under the MB-approved issuance, said fees cannot be increased until pricing standards or guidelines have been issued by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) or once the volume of digital payments reaches 40%, whichever is earlier.At the height of the pandemic last year, several InstaPay and PESONet participants, banks and EMIs alike, waived transfer fees. Globe is extending bill rebates and payment due dates for affected Globe At Home and Globe Platinum and Postpaid mobile customers up to January 2, 2022 as the company continues its restoration efforts especially in the areas hit by typhoon Odette.This means eligible Globe Platinum and Postpaid mobile customers will receive SMS notifications on prorated rebates, and can pay their bills beyond their due date or before the January 2, 2022 extension. The Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc. announced Monday, December 27, that its average residential electricity rate for December is at P8.7761 per kilowatt hour.It posted a decrease of P1.2859/kWh from last month’s rate of P10.0620/kWh.The P1.2859/kWh drop can be attributed to the reduction in generation, transmission and system loss charges, implementation of July 2021 WESM power bill reduction amounting to 79.76M net of VAT due to ERC letter dated Sept. 20, 2021 to mitigate the impact of the outage of Cebu-Negros submarine cable, as well as other pass-through charges such as VAT.The pass-through charges equivalent to P7.5895/kWh of the total power rate include the Generation and Transmission charges, ERC-approved adjustments, government subsidies and taxes.Only P1.1...
