The average price of pork in Negros Occidental increased by P2 per kilo based on the market monitoring of the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) this week.Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Placeda Lemana said that the increase in prices was due to the high demand during the last quarter of 2024 that has affected the current supply.This is usual during the beginning of the year as livestock supply is not big enough or ready to be slaughtered, she said.As of Monday, Jan. 27, pork prices in Don Salvador Benedicto, Calatrava, and Toboso were at P300/kilo - the lowest in the province, while the highest was in San Carlos City at P380/kilo, PVO data showed.Other meat products in Negros Occidental remained the same, the PVO said.PVO data also showed that Hinoba-an had the highest buy...

Mobile leader Globe commends the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for the arrest of two suspects allegedly engaged in the illegal sale of pre-registered SIMs – a violation of the SIM Registration Act.In a buy-bust operation, the PNP-CIDG Detective Special Operations Unit took custody of two Chinese nationals for an attempt to sell pre-registered SIM cards.
