The Social Security System (SSS)  Thursday, July 18, warned its members and the public to be wary of text messages sent by unscrupulous individuals pretending to be SSS, promising its recipients an incentive by accessing a link. SSS Senior Vice President for Member Services and Support Group Normita M. Doctor said that SSS has been receiving reports from members that they have received text alerts about benefit claims, expiring contribution payments, or My.SSS registration urging them to click a link. “Do not click the link in the message of these fake text alerts. The average beef  prices in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City  decreased by P10 to P13 in the first half of July compared to the second half of June, the Philippine Statistics Authority reported. The  PSA Price Situationer published on its website  Wednesday, July 17, showed that the average price of pure beef  in Negros Occidental is P409 per kilo, which is P13.50 lower than the second half of June which was at P422.50/kilo. Pure beef  prices in Bacolod City in the first half of July were also P12.83 lower than the second half June, from P400.83 to P388/kilo. The price of beef with bones was also P10 lower than the previous record, from P395 in the second half of June to P385/kilo in the first week of July in Negros Occidental,&nbs...

Globe has observed a significant decline in blocked spam SMS messages in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year, revealing a noticeable shift of illegal activities to other channels as scammers adapt to circumvent anti-fraud measures. In the second quarter of 2024, Globe intercepted a total of 235,998,731 spam SMS messages, a substantial drop from the 1,104,502,921 messages blocked in the same quarter of 2023.
