In line with its campaign to make the Internet safe for all, Globe has blocked an increasing number of illegal online gambling sites, with a total 1,345 domains filtered off its network in the first quarter of the year.The Q1 total represents a staggering 967 percent increase from the same quarter last year, when a total of 126 sites were barred. Mobile leader Globe reported a significant drop in the volume of spam and scam text messages blocked on its network in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year, a downtrend reflecting gains in the company's stringent anti-spam measures.The total number of blocked spam and scam SMS plunged from 1.1 billion in Q1 2023 to just 362.8 million in Q1 2024, a remarkable 67 percent year-on-year decline. Motorists should brace for big time fuel prices hikes on Tuesday, April 9.Unioil Petroleum Philippines’ fuel price forecast for April 9 to 15 said the estimated per liter increase for diesel will be P1.50 to P1.70 and P1.10 to P1.30 for gasoline.On April 2 oil companies implemented a rollback in the prices of diesel and kerosene by P0.60 and P1.05 per liter, respectively.
