Car rental owner shot dead in Bacolod

A 54-year-old car rental service owner died after being shot multiple times by an unidentified suspect along Galo and BBB streets in Barangay 23, Bacolod City, Saturday evening, November 8.

Police identified the victim only as alias “Mick,” while the suspect remains at large.

Bacolod City Police Station 4 commander, Maj. Marc Joeil Reclamado,  said on Sunday that witnesses saw the victim and the suspect arguing before the shooting occurred.

The witnesses also heard three to five gunshots during the incident.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

The suspect reportedly fled in a dark-colored sedan.

Reclamado said investigators are now backtracking the events and searching for additional witnesses to establish the motive.

CCTV cameras are installed in the area, but power outages caused by Typhoon “Tino” hampered access to the footage.

Police believe the incident may be linked to a business-related dispute.*
