Representatives from the 32 towns and cities in Negros Occidental joined the first coordination meeting for the 29th Panaad sa Negros Festival at the Negros Residences on Tuesday, Jan. 14.

The festival will be held March 24 to 30.

The coordination meeting was presided by Charina Magallanes-Tan, who is this year’s Panaad sa Negros Festival executive director.

Tan said this year the festival’s non-government organization partner will be the Negros Cultural Foundation Inc.

“This year, in partnership with NCFI, we will spotlight Negrense culture and the arts. We are expecting more art and cultural activities to enrich the festival experience and engage festival-goers,” she said.

“While the traditional Panaad Festival activities will continue, we will also host a battle of the bands to showcase and discover more local musical talent,” Tan added.

For entertainment, they are anticipating bigger bands and talents to grace the 29th Panaad Festival, she said.

The previous partners of the festival were the Association of Negros Producers to highlight the province’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, and the Federation of Multi-Sectoral Alliance for Development-Negros (MUAD) to put focus on food security and the agricultural sector, she said.*
