The Negros Occidental provincial government will implement the first tranche of the mandated salary increases and allowances for its employees effective August 2, Acting Provincial Administrator Alberto Nellas Jr. said on Monday, August 19.
The granting of the salary adjustments and allowances to the Negros Occidental provincial government employees is mandated in the Modified Salary Schedule for Local Government Personnel contained in Executive Order No. 64, Series of 2024 issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Nellas said the increase will start August 2 as its retroactivity to January 1 does not apply to local government units.
EO 64 grants a four-tranche salary increase and a medical allowance to government workers to be implemented from 2024 to 2027.
Meanwhile, Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson is set to deliver his State of the Province Address 2024 at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol Building in Bacolod City at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The governor is expected to report on the achievements of his administration and projects to look forward to that are geared towards the further improvement of services for Negrenses, Nellas said.*
