Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led the distribution of P7 million in roofing materials and food packs to 1,476 Typhoon “Odette” victims of Candoni town in southern Negros Occidental on Thursday, February 17.
The Provincial Health Office also vaccinated children aged 5 to 11 years old against COVID-19 in Candoni.
The provincial government earlier also distributed assistance to typhoon victims in Ilog, Cauayan, Sipalay City and Hinoba-an in the sixth district of Negros Occidental.
Lacson said the provincial government has ran out of its own typhoon assistance and will start distributing the P90 million provided by the National Housing Authority.
The NHA funds will be distributed to typhoon victims in Kabankalan City and the fifth district, he said.*
