Cadiz City, through its City Health Office Dental Division, celebrated the 2023 National Oral Health Month with the theme ‘Ngiping Protektado, Ngiping Panalo’ in February.
Cadiz City Health Office mirrored the advocacy campaign of the Department of Health and the Philippine Dental Association on proper oral care through Toothbrushing with Fluoride Toothpaste, Limiting intake of sweetened foodstuffs and beverages, and for the public to refrain from Tobacco Smoking, ‘Do-It-Yourself’ or DIY Braces and seeking the services of Illegal Dental Practitioners, Dr. Jeffry Guanzon said Monday, March 6.
This advocacy was done through social media, posting of information materials, education and counselling sessions and supervised toothbrushing drills.

In keeping with the office’s motto of ‘Health With Equity’, Oral Health Promotive and Direct Services were also provided by Cadiz City Health Office Dental Staff for remote or disadvantaged sectors by means of Oral Examination and Consults for Pregnant Women and the Elderly, Topical Fluoride Varnish Application on Infants, Pre-School and School-Age Children, and by holding a dental mission for Persons Deprived of Liberty or PDL’s at Cadiz City Jail.
The Staff also joined the 19th NOHM Launch which started in a motorcade from the Provincial Capitol Lagoon in Bacolod City going to the Municipality of Manapla.
The Cadiz City Health Office clarified that while the month of February gives national focus on oral health, the activities that it conducts are done throughout the year.*
