Cabanbanan champion at Himaya streetdance tilt

Brgy. Cabanbanan was the overall champion in the Street and Arena Dance Competition of the Himaya Festival in Himamaylan City on Sunday, April 7.

The Brgy. Cabanbanan contingent bested 16 other barangays and took home P100,000 in cash and another P20,000 for their awards as Most Supportive Group and Best Production Design.

Brgy. Nabalian was 1st runner-up and took home P50,000, Brgy. Mambagaton was 2nd runner-up with P30,000, and Brgy. To-oy was 3rd runner-up with P20,000.

The Brgy. Nabalian performers also took home another P35,000 for their three special awards, including Best Choreography, Best Street Dance, and Best in Costume.

Brgy. Aguisan was awarded as Best in Concept and took home P10,000.

Himamaylan Mayor Raymund Tongson thanked the 17 competing barangays who joined the festival dance competition and said he looks forward for a bigger festival next year.

Other competing barangays were San Antonio, Buenavista, Carabalan, Poblacion-II, Sara-et, Su-ay, Talaban, Caradio-an, Poblacion-III, Poblacion-IV, Cabadiangan, and Poblacion-I.*
