BTAO will expand towing drive to other major roads – Benitez

Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said on Thursday, October 12, that the towing and clamping of illegally parked vehicles along Lacson Street has greatly eased traffic.

The towing and clamping will continue and will be expanded to other major thoroughfares in Bacolod City suffering from traffic problems, he said.

Also to be cleared of illegally parked vehicles is the Circumferential Road.

Vehicles are often seen parked on bike lanes along the Circumferential Road.

Eight more vehicles parked along Lacson Street were clamped by the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office on Thursday, Maj. Junjie Liba, BTAO head, said.

Meanwhile, the city government will install high tech traffic lights and more CCTV cameras in Bacolod, Benitez said.*
