A 14-year-old boy drowned in a dam in Brgy. Balayong, Pamplona, Negros Oriental, on Wednesday, June 19.
The boy jumped into the dam of the National Irrigation Administration and drowned after he was carried by strong current, the police said.
A rescue operation was conducted by members of the Bureau of Fire Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices of Pamplona and Tanjay City.
The body of the victim was brought to Pamplona Rural Health Unit for post-mortem examination, the police said.*
