The body discovered in the Talabaan River in Sitio Cot-Cot, Brgy. Mabini, Cadiz City, on Wednesday, Sept. 24, has been identified as a man who had been missing for almost two months, the police said on Thursday
The victim was identified as “Mark,” 29, whose family confirmed his identity Wednesday through his shirt, bag, slippers, and other belongings, the police said.
They told police they had been searching for him since he disappeared and added that he had been suffering from a nervous breakdown.
His remains were first spotted by a concerned citizen along the riverbank and reported to barangay officials, who then alerted Cadiz police.
He was declared dead at the Cadiz City Health Office by Dr. Maria Victoria Ibañez, who listed the probable cause of death as traumatic head injury, with no foul play noted.*
