BJMP adopts release date tracker in NIR ahead of nationwide rollout

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology–Negros Island Region has become one of the first regions to adopt the BJMP Release Date Tracker ahead of its nationwide implementation in 2026.

BJMP-NIR, conducted a two-day seminar-workshop to introduce and operationalize the data-driven case management system on Tuesday, Dec. 16.

The Release Date Tracker is designed to systematize the monitoring, verification, and synchronization of records of persons deprived of liberty, particularly in tracking release dates and ensuring compliance with legal timelines.

The activity was conducted in coordination with the BJMP Regional Office X Justice Data Lab.

The seminar introduced the system and provided technical guidance to paralegal officers, with the assistance of BJMP-NIR information and communications technology personnel.

The seminar-workshop began with a legal refresher on laws, rules of court, and jurisprudence relevant to paralegal functions and custodial case processing.

The second part focused on the project background of the Release Date Tracker, including its development, system features, and alignment with BJMP’s digitalization initiatives.

The final segment consisted of hands-on exercises where participants performed simulated data entry, record validation, and case alignment using the system.

BJMP-NIR said the early adoption of the Release Date Tracker strengthens institutional readiness and supports transparency, efficiency, and accuracy in jail management operations.*
