The Bureau of Fire Protection is on Red Alert for the elections on Monday, May 9, Chief Inspector Rodel Legaspi, Bacolod Fire Marshal, said.
He said 124 members of the Bacolod City Fire Station were recalled for the deployment plan from May 7-11.
Fire trucks will be deployed to 12 Bacolod schools that serve as voting precincts, a BFP press release said Saturday, May 7.
The 12 schools are:
*Andres Bonifacio Elementary School 1 – Aguinaldo St.,
*Andres Bonifacio Elementary School 2 – North Drive E-Ramos
*Bata Elementary School 1
*ETCS 1-3, Brgy. 16,
*Rizal Elementary School, Brgy. 16
*Luisa Medel National High School, Ramylu Drive, Brgy. Tangub
*Mariano G. Medalla Integrated School, Araneta St.
*Sum-ag Elementary School, Araneta St., Brgy. Sum-ag
*JJ Gonzaga Elementary School, Bakyas,Brgy. Mansilingan
*Luis Hervias National High School, Brgy. Villamonte
*Carlos Hilado Memorial State College, Brgy. Estefania
*Bacolod City National High School, P.Hernaez St., Brgy. Taculing
The BFP has also created a Quick Response Team (QRT) based at the Lopez Jaena Fire Sub-Station, which is being manned by six .The QRT will be responsible for the conduct of fire and arson investigation for all election related fire incidents, and is also responsible in the conduct of Fire Safety Inspection of critical infrastructures and polling areas within their AOR, the press release said.
The Bacolod City Fire Station has also established the First Aid Service Team (FAST) which is also deployed in strategic areas such as major/vulnerable polling areas to respond to all emergency medical incidents during course of the red alert status.
F/Inspector Mark Angelo Caligdong, Deputy City Fire Marshal, is overseeing the overall operation of the deployment of personnel and the online reporting every two-hours.
The 17 BFP Special Rescue Force – Negros Occidental, also under the direct supervision of Caligdong is ready to respond to any related election concerns and all other emergencies, the press release added.*
