Bureau of Fire Protection investigators are gathering evidence for laboratory tests to determine what caused the eight-hour fire that hit two establishments at Luzuriaga Street in Bacolod City on Sunday, Chief Inspector Rodel Legaspi, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Bacolod chief, said Monday, February 13.

The BFP has placed the initial fire damage to Jean’s Boutique owned by Jean Lumauag and Wan Li Marketing owned by Alex Choi at P20,234,400.

Legaspi said they have leads on the cause of the fire and will come out with a statement in the next few days.

The fire began from the second floor of Jean’s Boutique and spread to the third floor of Wan Li Marketing, Legaspi said.

Legaspi said they are waiting for the itemized affidavits of loss of the owners of the two establishments to come up with a final figure on the total cost of the damage.*
