Bacolod mayoral candidate Alfredo “Albee” Benitez of Team Asenso as of 12:10 a.m. Tuesday , May 10, appeared to be headed for victory with 88 percent of the election returns in.
Also headed for victory were re-electionist Rep. Greg Gasataya (Team Asenso) and Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran (Grupo Progreso).
Benitez (PDP-Laban) garnered 150,746 votes, while incumbent Mayor Evelio Leonardia (NP) had 94,025 votes.
Familiaran (NP) had 112,924 votes taking the lead in the race for vice mayor over Caesar Distrito (Team Asenso) – 90,594 and Wilson Gamboa Jr. (Independent) – 27,890.
Greg Gasataya (NPC) took a commanding lead in the race for congressman with 162,604 votes followed by Dan Atayde (Grupo Progreso) – 70,487, Nonong San Miguel – 758 votes, Romy Gustilo (Independent) – 644 and Willy David (Independent) – 539.
The candidates for councilor in the top 15 with 88 percent of the election returns in as of 12:10 a.m. Tuesday were:

Twelve winning candidates for councilor are needed for Bacolod’s Sangguniang Panlungsod.
