Bacolod Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said Monday, July 14, that he may set up his congressional office in the new legislative building currently under construction behind the Bacolod City Government Center, once it’s completed.
In the interim, Benitez said he is searching for a temporary legislative office that will be easily accessible to Bacolod residents.
He said that his congressional office could eventually be located either in the new legislative building or at the old Bacolod City Hall, which is also undergoing reconstruction.
Benitez inspected the ongoing work at the legislative building on Monday.
The fourth floor will feature a formal lounge for city government visitors and a function room capable of accommodating about 500 people, he said.
The third floor, which will house the Sangguniang Panlungsod offices, is anticipated to be finished within a year, with the entire building expected to be completed within 18 months, Benitez added.*
