The Bacolod City government will hire 50 additional regular employees for the Bacolod Traffic and Transportation Management Department, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
They will be hired as traffic enforcers.
There were 45 job order (JO) traffic enforcers whose contracts were not renewed for poor performance.
The hiring and dismissal of employees, especially JOs, is based on criteria and performance and not on their political affiliation, Benitez said.
JOs should not get involved in political affairs, he said.
The mayor also reiterated his warning that JOs should not be used for political purposes.*
