PLt. Col. Norberto Barniso assumed his post as the new Cauayan Police Station chief following turnover rites at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall in Cauayan, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Barniso replaced PLtCol. Lowell Garinganao, who bowed out after 28 years of service in the Philippine National Police.
In his message, Barniso said leading the Cauayan police is a great challenge that requires public trust.
He vowed to continue existing programs, promote unity within the force, and uphold compassion and human rights in maintaining peace and order.
Negros Occidental Police Provincial director, PCol. Rainerio de Chavez, who presided over the ceremony urged the Cauayan police personnel to give their full support to Barniso and work together for a safer community.
Mayor John Rey Tabujara thanked Garinganao for his service and assured the new police chief of the local government’s support.*
