
Bacolod City will hold a five-day celebration of National Arts Month at Ayala Malls Capitol Central Feb. 24 to 28.
The event aims to showcase the unique artistry of Bacolod while fostering unity and cultural pride through creative expression, a press release from the Bacolod City Tourism Office said.
The event with the theme “Ani ng Sining, Diwa at Damdamin- Paghugpong sang Bacolodnon Pinaagi sa Taliambong (Unifying Bacolodnons Through Art) will feature talks, exhibitions, and cultural shows led by local artists.
On Feb. 24, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, art exhibit featuring different art forms, art merchandise display, and mask painting that will be conducted until Feb. 28.
Textile art will take center stage on Feb. 25 as it features a slow fashion through hablon weaving by Vida Reyes, and a workshop on “Art of Filipiniana” by Doreen Dofitas.
A pottery workshop led by Maicaella Marie Esmilla will be conducted on Feb. 26, and a dance workshop by Bayle Negrense Folkloric Dance Company will be held on Feb. 27.
The 5-day event will culminate on Feb. 28 through a cultural show featuring performances highlighting the city’s heritage and culture.*
