A Bacolod resident was sentenced to life imprisonment on Friday, February 18, for possession of 104.2798 grams of shabu.
Bacolod Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Raymond Joseph Javier found John Carlo Tablatin Serfino guilty beyond reasonable doubt for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022 and also ordered him to pay a fine of P2 million.
The police arrested Serfino for possession of 26 sachets of shabu weighing 104.2798 grams in a buy-bust operation at his boarding house at Purok Sto. Domingo, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City, the judge said.
Serfino’s defense of frame up must bow down to the candid and positive testimony of the government witness, he said.
The warden of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, was ordered to immediately transfer Serfino to the National Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.
The judge also ordered the turnover of the seized drugs to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for destruction.*
