Bacolod, Victorias cops seize P1.8M in shabu

The drug bust in Victorias City*  

Police seized more than P1.8 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested three suspects, including a high-value target, in buy-bust operations in the cities of Bacolod and Victorias, Negros Occidental, on Friday, Oct. 17.

The Bacolod City Police Office – Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) operatives arrested alias Gresil, 44, of Barangay 10, Bacolod City, and alias Bonie, 43, of Bago City in a buy-bust operation at Purok Magtiayon, Brgy. 10, Bacolod City.

Confiscated from them were around 230 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price of P1,564,000.

The suspects are now detained and will face charges for violating the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The Victorias City police also arrested a 29-year-old high-value individual and seized 54 grams of suspected shabu worth P367,200 at Purok 5, Daan Banwa, Brgy. 9.

The suspect, a construction worker, was caught after selling a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer during a buy-bust operation.

Recovered from the suspect were 17 heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu, a P500 marked bill, and other non-drug items.

The seized drug evidence have been forwarded to the Negros Occidental Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.*
