A Bacolod student who was found dead in La Carlota City may have been mauled as her autopsy revealed multiple blunt traumas in different parts of her body, a police official said on Tuesday, August 27.

Capt. Rosinie Cabuena, La Carlota Deputy Police Chief, told DIGICAST NEGROS that based on the autopsy results, Pearl Joy Galve, a grade 10 student from Brgy. Sum-ag, was possibly mauled.

The autopsy results revealed that Galve had a blunt trauma in the head, neck, chest, and in the lower and upper extremities.

However, the police said that they cannot confirm if the victim was raped because her body was in an advance stage of decomposition.

On Aug. 14 Galve’s body was found in a sugarcane filed in Brgy. Cubay, La Carlota City, 15 days after she was reported missing.

Cabuena said they are coordinating with Bacolod City Police Station 9 operatives in solving the case as soon as possible.

She urged the public, especially those who witnessed the incident, to provide the police with information to help solve the case.*
