The  outgoing Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod approved a resolution allowing face-to-face classroom instructions in all public and private elementary and secondary schools in the city  subject to the strict  observance of minimum health protocols on Wednesday, June 29, Councilor Renecito Novero said on Thursday.

The resolution was unanimously passed a day before the takeover of the new Bacolod City  administration.

Face-to-face classroom instructions prove to be a much better approach to educate the children in schools, the resolution authored by Novero said.

Bacolod City has been placed under Alert Level 1 for sometime signifying a welcome and safer environment   for the conduct of face-to-face interactions   between teachers and students, he said.

The Bacolod SP also approved a resolution urging Congress and the Department of Education under the incoming administration to review the K-12 programs of education, he added.

There is a growing sentiment among many parents and school children regarding the practicality of the K-12 program, he said.

It adds two more years of financial burden to the parents and to the academic requirements of students that largely affects their opportunity to finish earlier in their respective target professions, he said *
