The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod passed a resolution favorably endorsing to the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) two Bacolod City projects worth P P300 million during its regular session on Wednesday, February 15.
Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez had sought the passage of the resolution, Councilor Em Ang said.
The two projects involve the beautification of the Bacolod Public Plaza and the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) grounds.
The city government is seeking TIEZA funding for the Bacolod Public Plaza fountain and lighting project estimated to cost P80 million and the technology fountain at the BCGC grounds worth P220 million.
Benitez earlier said that First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos is helping the city government avail of the funds for the two projects.*
