The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod unanimously passed a resolution on Wednesday, Oct. 16, congratulating Ricardo “Cano” Tan for constructing a building in the shape of a chicken that has made it to the Guinness World Records.
The resolution’s main author was Councilor Jason Villarosa who was joined by Councilor Celia Flor as co-author.
A Guinness World Records plaque recognizing the “Manok ni Cano Gwapo Tan” at Campuestohan Highland Resort in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, as the largest building in the shape of a chicken will be unveiled on Saturday morning, October 19.
The Guinness World Records plaque states that “The largest building in the shape of a chicken measures 34.931 m (114 feet 7 inches) in height, 12.127 m (39 ft 9 in) in width and 28.172 m (92 ft 5 in) in length and was achieved by Ricardo Cano Gwapo Tan at Campuestohan Highland Resort in Negros Occidental, Philippines as verified on 8 September 2024”.*
