The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod concurred the appointment of the new city administrator and legal officer at its regular session on Wednesday, July 13.
Concurred were the appointments of Pacifico Maghari III as city administrator and Romeo Carlos Ting Jr. as city legal officer, SP Floor Leader Al Victor Espino said.
Also approved was a resolution requesting Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez to study the possibility of activating the Community Emergency Rescue Team under the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office covering the 61 barangays of Bacolod City, which was proposed by Councilor Kalaw Puentevella.
A resolution urging different private and public schools in Bacolod to include in their cleanliness drive in preparation for the opening of classes an intensified campaign against dengue was also approved.
Councilor Renecito Novero also authored a resolution urging the Bureau of Jail Management of Penology and the city government through the Office of the Mayor to regularly monitor and address the physical congestion of persons deprived of liberty in Bacolod jail facilities to ensure the preservation of their rights to life, health and dignity.*
