Bacolod remains critical area, Negros high risk for Covid: DOH

Bacolod City remains a critical risk area for COVID-19 and Negros Occidental is a high risk area, the Department of Health in Western Visayas reported on Monday, January 24.

COVID-19 cases in Bacolod City in the past two weeks grew by 634 percent with an average daily attack rate of 18.79 percent, the DOH also reported.

In Negros Occidental, COVID-19 cases in the past two weeks grew by 1,262 percent with an average daily attack rate of 5.29 percent, it added.

Both remain under Alert Level 3.

Bacolod City has fully vaccinated 126.36 percent of its target population, while Negros Occidental inoculated 57. 26 percent, the same report said.

Negros Occidental has also partially vaccinated 10.58 percent of its target population and still needs to vaccinate 32.16 percent, it added.

Bacolod City had 185 new COVID-19 cases and Negros Occidental had 253, the DOH also reported on Monday.

Negros Occidental has 2,298 active COVID-19 cases and Bacolod City has 1,967, it added.*
