The procession or the “Traslacion del San Sebastian” will start at 3 p.m. at the Sto. The procession will be followed by a cultural program and fireworks at the Bacolod Public Plaza.

At 10 a.m. of the same day, a fiesta mass will also be held after a procession from the Bishop’s House to the Cathedral.

Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said the procession is being held to promote, encourage, and develop cultural tourism in the city and strengthen our identity through historical festivities as Bacolod celebrates its 90th year this 2023 leading to its centenary celebration in 2033.

The procession intends to develop and entice people to a gathering that celebrates our history and culture, City Tourism head Tere Manalili shared.

Around 2,000 to 2,500 devotees are expected to participate in the “traslacion”, she said.

The traslacion is a startup event for the upcoming reenactment of the passion of Christ (Taltal) and Flores de Mayo in the months of April and May, respectively, which the city plans to develop more for religious and cultural tourism significance.*
