All police stations in Bacolod City have been directed to stay vigilant amid alleged sightings of an armed group within the Police Station 10 area, Col. Joeresty Coronica, Bacolod police director, said Monday, Jan. 6.
Coronica said that he has already directed all police stations to stay vigilant and alert for any possible attacks by the armed group.
On Jan. 2, PS10 went on heightened alert following sightings of an armed group at the boundary of Bacolod, Murcia, and Bago near the economic highway.
Station 10 Commander Capt. Sherwin Galupar said that based on their intelligence monitoring, armed groups have been sighted conducting surveillance work in the area since last month.
Coronica said that there is a possibility that the armed group is targeting the solar power plant being constructed in the area for extortion.
The police director also urged the management of various establishments not to give any support to the armed groups.*
