Bacolod police nab 6, seize P740K in shabu

The Bacolod police seized P740,000 in shabu and arrested six individuals in Purok Malvar Cubay, Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City, 1:05 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27.

The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) arrested the six individuals, including a high-value individual, in a buy-bust operation.

They seized 110 grams of suspected shabu, a BCPO report said.

Those arrested were identified by the police only as alias “Friechbon”, 40, “Richard”, 43, “Roy”, 26, Peter”, 28, and “Joel”, 24, all of Bacolod City, and “Benmar”, 34, of Brgy. Sebucauan, Isabela, Negros Occidental.

The suspects are under police custody and will face charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The operation was led by PCapt. Genus David, CDEU assistant chief, under the direct supervision of PLt. Col. Antonio Benitez, CDEU chief.

The BCPO, in a press statement, said it “remains steadfast in its mission to combat illegal drugs and ensure the safety of the community. The successful operation underscores the dedication of law enforcement officers in the relentless fight against drug-related crimes in Bacolod City”.*
