The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) launched a daily “rekorida” to spread crime prevention tips and enforce a curfew for minors across the city.
BCPO said the rekorida, a roving public announcement system, is designed to keep crime prevention at the forefront of residents’ minds, reminding them to stay vigilant and to report suspicious activities. It also reinforces BCPO’s appeal for stronger community cooperation in protecting homes and public spaces.
At the same time, officers on foot and motorcycle patrols have been deployed to enforce the 10 p.m. curfew for minors.
Children found on the streets beyond curfew are taken to the nearest police station, where they are turned over to their parents or guardians.
Col. Joeresty Coronica, BCPO director, said the measures aim to protect young people and create a culture of proactive policing in Bacolod.
“These initiatives are part of our intensified efforts to safeguard Bacolodnons, particularly the youth, and to maintain peace and order across the city,” he added.
For emergencies or to report any incident, the public is advised to contact the nearest police station or dial 911.*
