Bacolod, Negros allow Covid home quarantine

Bacolod City and Negros Occidental now allow home quarantine for fully vaccinated individuals hit with COVID-19.

COVID-hit fully vaccinated Bacolodnons will be allowed home quarantine if they are asymptomatic and live in a house where they can be isolated in a separate bedroom with bathroom, Em Ang, Bacolod Emergency Operations Center executive director, said Tuesday, January 11.

A Department of Health (DOH) advisory allows a seven-day quarantine, but the Bacolod EOC in consultation with infectious disease specialists has set it for ten days, Ang said.

Health workers hit with COVID-19 who are fully vaccinated can return to work in five days, she also said.

Those who are hit with COVID-19 who do not have a separate room to isolate in will be brought to a city quarantine facility, Ang said.

COVID-19 unvaccinated residents will have to remain in quarantine for 14 days, said.

The Negros Occidental provincial government also allows home quarantine for COVID-19 hit fully vaccinated individuals, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said.

Acting Presidential Spokesman Karlo Nograles on Tuesday also said the Inter-Agency Task Force approved home isolation for COVID-19 confirmed individuals with asymptomatic, mild, or moderate disease.

He said home quarantine will also be allowed for close contacts of suspected, probable, or confirmed COVID-19 cases, subject to the more specific protocols as may be issued by the Department of Health.*
