The Bacolod City government has a new system that fast tracks providing burial assistance to Bacolod residents, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said on Monday, March 11.
The city government has entered into an agreement with ten funeral parlors, he said.
Residents seeking funeral services can use their Bacolod City Comprehensive Health Program cards or seek the assistance of their barangay captains to avail of the city’s funeral service package, City Social Welfare Officer Alma Gustilo said.
The P10,000 funeral service package includes retrieval of the body from a hospital or house, three-day embalming, the coffin and delivery to the cemetery, she said.
Those who do not avail of the funeral service package can instead opt for the P7,000 burial assistance from the city government, Gustilo said.*
