
Bacolod firefighters captured a 2.4-meter-long reticulated python at a residential area in Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City, early Wednesday morning, Aug. 6.
The animal rescue operation was carried out at Malvar Cubay in Villamonte after the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) -Bacolod received a report at 7:02 a.m. on the presence of the snake.
Minutes later personnel from the Libertad Fire Sub-Station of BFP-Bacolod arrived at the site.
The team was able to safely and humanely capture the python, preventing any harm to nearby residents and ensuring the reptile could be handled appropriately, the BFP-Bacolod reported.
The BFP- Bacolod, in a press statement, emphasized that the operation reflects their continued commitment not only to fire safety, but also to community protection in all forms, including wildlife encounters.
They also advised the residents to remain alert and report similar sightings to authorities for prompt and proper response.*
