Bacolod enrollment drops, too; school supplies delay explained

Enrollment in the Bacolod Schools Division has also dropped, Councilor Al Victor Espino said Tuesday, September 5.

There were about 72,000 students enrolled from preschool to grade six last year and the number has dropped to 66,450 this school year, he said.

Meanwhile, the city government will release its school supplies aid to public school students in October, Espino said.

That is because they have had problems accessing school supplies because of a shortage in paper nationwide, he said.

It is not only scarce but also expensive, Espino said.

The city government is allocating P15 million for the school supplies, Espino said.*
