Bacolod cops seize P5.4M shabu, arrest high value drug suspect

The drugs seized at Purok Narra Baybay, Brgy. 8, Bacolod City*

The police arrested a high-value drug personality and seized suspected shabu worth P5.44 million in a buy-bust operation in Purok Narra Baybay, Brgy. 8, Bacolod City, on Saturday night, Oct. 26.

Arrested by Bacolod City Police Station 2 cops was alias “Rico” of Purok Narra Baybay.

Recovered from him were 800 grams of suspected shabu valued at P5,440,000, the police said.

Alias “Rico” will face charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, the police said.

Col. Joeresty Coronica, Bacolod Police Director, said that the operation was part of “our comprehensive security measures to protect the MassKara Festival and maintain public safety”.

“The zero-tolerance stance of our police officers reflects our dedication to getting rid of illegal drugs and ensuring a secure festival for everyone,” he added.*
