Bacolod cops nab three for drugs; 1 linked by residents to Brgy. 27 fire

Three drug suspects were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City on Sunday, Sept. 21, with more than P353,000 worth of suspected shabu seized.

At around 4:26 p.m., Police Station 6 operatives apprehended alias “Fritz” in Purok Pilipinhon, Brgy. 30.
Recovered from him were about two grams of suspected shabu valued at P13,600.

Capt. Rosalino Pugoy Jr., Station 6 chief, said some residents of Brgy. 27 had blamed Fritz for causing the fire in Purok Ceriza 2 on Sept. 12, which displaced 145 homeowners, 105 sharers, and 44 renters.

Fritz, however, denied the allegation, claiming he was asleep when the blaze broke out and even helped put out the fire.

Police also said he had been monitored for alleged drug activity in Brgy. 27 before moving to Brgy. 30 after the incident.

Hours later, the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested two more suspects, alias “Niel” of Brgy. 2 and alias “Charlie” of Brgy. Taloc, Bago City, in a buy-bust operation at Purok Kagaykay, Brgy. 2.

Authorities confiscated 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000, along with firearms, leading to additional charges.

The three suspects are now detained and will face cases for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, while Niel and Charlie will also be charged for violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.*
