Bacoleña beauty Marianel Tan is one of the eight finalists of the head-to-head challenge of the ongoing Miss World Philippines competition.

Tan, a junior communication student from the University of Saint La Salle-Bacolod, was one of the finalists of the head-to-head challenge, one of the important fast-track events of the pageant.

The pageant organizers said that the head-to-head competition allows the candidates to “showcase their speaking and presentation skills, along with their intelligence and quick thinking”, which was held at the Grand Westside Hotel in Parañaque City on Thursday July 4.

The candidates were divided into groups and asked questions about their advocacies and personality.

Tan, who represents Bacolod City, will join the head-to-head finals on Monday, July 8.

The winner of the head-to-head challenge will automatically proceed to the semi-finals of the pageant that will be happening on July 19 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Tan also won the social media award, one of the events of the pageant.

The winner of the pageant will represent the country in the Miss World pageant this year.*
