A Bacoleño is a topnotcher again.
Adnan Nillos Balisi, a University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) graduate, made it to 6th place in the August 2023 Guidance Counselors Examination, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Tuesday. August 22.
He had a rating of 87.60 percent, the PRC added.
Balisi was also the third placer in the August 2019 Physical Therapist Licensure Examination.
The PRC said 295 out of 559 passed the Guidance Counselors Licensure Examination given by the Board of Guidance and Counseling in the National Capital Region, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Koronadal, Lucena and Rosales in August this year.
Balisi, 26, said “having a full time job and reviewing for boards is difficult. I had to juggle my time well. The secret was time management and discipline.”
He is chief physical therapist at Therapy BCD Physical Therapy Clinic and a part time faculty member at the College of Allied Medical Health Sciences at UNO-R.
People expected him to be a topnotcher because he was the third placer in the 2019 Physical Therapist Licensure Examination, but he lost hope because he was overthinking, Balisi said.
He was with a patient having therapy treatment when a friend called that he was a topnotcher again.
“I was shocked because I thought I would not make it to the Top 10,” he said.
“I had my doubts but I still made it, thank you Lord”, Balisi said.
Balisi is from Barangay Alijis, Bacolod, and is the eldest of three children of Noe and Anna Marie Balisi.
His mother is a registrar at an aeronautics school in Bacolod and his father is a government consultant.
He aims to obtain a doctor of public health degree and probably will take the PT state board examination in the United States next year, Balisi said.*
