The 303rd Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army assured that it will secure the communities affected by the Kanlaon Volcano eruption in Negros as the situation might be taken advantage of by the New People’s Army.
BGen. Orlando Edralin, 303IB commander, said on Wednesday, June 5, that they are on high alert and have been closely coordinating with the City and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices of the affected areas.
“We see to it that on our part, these areas are properly secured”, he said, adding “we will never lower our guards as the situation might be taken advantage of by the CPP-NPA”.
Edralin said that they are conducting close monitoring of the communities affected and ensuring that their presence is felt in coordination with the police.*
