The 79th Infantry (Masaligan) Battalion of the Philippine Army distributed relief goods to the affected families in the three flood-hit areas in Negros Occidental Wednesday, January 20.

A total of 1,000 families from the cities of Victorias, Sagay, and Escalante benefitted the 1,000 packs of relief goods that contain assorted canned goods, rice and noodles donated by GMA Kapuso Foundation Inc. and Landers Superstore though the AFP Central Command, a press release from the Army said.

Use clothing donated by private individuals and stakeholders from Central Visayas were also distributed, it added.

Lt. Col. Gerard Alvaran, 79thIB commander, said “This noble undertaking shows our stakeholders’ genuine concern to the affected constituents in Northern Negros during these trying times.”*
