Ananoria cites importance of police in elections

Provincial Election Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria cited the importance of police in ensuring a smooth election during the National Multi-Sectoral Peace Assembly for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City, Monday, Oct. 16.

Ananoria highlighted the importance of Philippine National Police as the protector of ballots, guardians of people, and guardians of democracy, with the help of the COMELEC.

The assembly was also highlighted by the ceremonial release of white doves which symbolizes peace and a state of tranquility which also characterizes a respect of justice and goodwill, the press release of NOCPPO said.

During the event, NOCPPO also awarded outstanding units and police stations for the successful conduct of a joint operation that led to the recovery of 1,000 bags of sugar that were carted away on Sept. 26.

Among the awardees were the Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Unit, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Bago Component City Police Station, La Carlota Component City Police Station, and Murcia Municipal Police Station.*
