Pauline del Rosario will try to reclaim her dominance on home soil in the ICTSI Bacolod Golf Challenge at the Bacolod Golf and Country Club in Binitin, Murcia, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
The 26-year-old shot maker, currently competing on the Epson Tour, leads a competitive field in the 54-hole championship, which is the fifth leg of this year’s Ladies Philippine Golf Tour (LPGT).
Del Rosario placed fourth at the Philippine Ladies Masters last February – the highest among locals in a strong field dominated by players from Korea and Thailand.
She burst into the LPGT scene in 2017 with four wins and an Order of Merit (OOM) title, then went abroad in pursuit of LPGA dreams.
Princess Superal, a former OOM winner and Asia Pacific Cup champion, is eyeing back-to-back wins after beating Sarah Ababa in a playoff in a recent LPGT stop.
Other title contenders are former LPGT champions Harmie Constantino, Chihiro Ikeda, Florence Bisera, and Mafy Singson.
Also eager to make their mark are former national team standout Lois Kaye Go and fellow promising talents Kayla Nocum, Annika Cedo, Rev Alcantara, Martina Miñoza, Pamela Mariano, Velinda Castil and Korean Seoyun Kim.*PNA
