Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez has issued an executive order streamlining Bacolod City’s COVID-19 response, his spokesperson Lyzander Dilag said Thursday, July 7.
Executive Order 005, Series of 2022 transfers the functions of the Emergency Operations Center Task Force to the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office that has been tasked to spearhead the COVID-19 response of Bacolod, complimented by the different departments and offices of the city government, Dilag said during in a press conference.
Executive Order 005, Series of 2022, also creates the COVID-19 Action Team to come-up with a coordinated action response in Bacolod City chaired by the mayor or his designated officer with Dr. Anna Maria Laarni Pornan, DRRMO head, as vice chair and focal person.
Members are Dr. Ma. Carmela Gensoli – city health officer, Pacita Tero – Department of Social Services and Development head, Ramon De los Reyes – Management Information Technology and Computer Services officer, and Agnes Lira Jundos – public information officer.
Pornan said from June 29 to Thursday Bacolod City had 53 active COVID-19 cases.
Pornan said COVID-19 vaccination to be conducted by Department of Health personnel will continue at SM City and Ayala Malls Capitol Central 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at the City Health Office 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.
Vaccination will also be conducted in Alangilan, Alijis, Bata, Banago, Estefania, Granada Handumanan, Mandalagan, Sum-ag, Singcang and Tangub, she said.*
