Albee calling emergency meet on Bacolod’s water shortage

Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez is calling for another emergency water meeting on Tuesday, February 27, to find more solutions to the problem of lack of water in some areas of the city.

He has received reports that residents in Eroreco Subdivision and Mandalagan have been suffering from lack of water, Benitez said, on his radio program “Isugid kay Mayor” on Sunday, February 25.

The El Niño phenomenon dry spell has also caused water levels in rivers to drop, he noted.

The mayor said he will invite water stakeholders and representatives of government agencies who may be able to make recommendations and hasten solutions to the problem.

“Water is essential to our daily needs,” he said, in stressing the need for a quick solution to the problem.*
