The office of Rep. Francisco “ Kiko” Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) went full swing last week, August 22 – 26, with the turn-over of cash assistance to qualified recipients of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), covering validated and approved requests for the months of June and July.
A total of 1,947 indigent and marginalized residents of the Third District received medical and burial aid, facilitated by the District Office in close coordination with the DSWD, the city and municipal governments, and the barangay officials, a press release from the office of Benitez said Sunday, August 28.
The aid distributions were held at the Talisay Barangay Zone 2 Covered Court for 489 beneficiaries, Murcia gymnasium for 473 residents, and 430 recipients at the Silay Plaza Covered Court.
In EB Magalona 233 individuals gathered at the Saravia Commercial Building for the pay-out and in Victorias the turn-over to 322 beneficiaries was held at the Barangay 13 Covered Court.
Manning the distribution in all venues were the District staff of Benitez, DSWD Region VI social welfare officers, and local social welfare office personnel.
Benitez continues to facilitate the consistent implementation of the DSWD AICS for the Third District through his satellite offices.
AICS is one of DSWDs protective services for the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals covering assistance for medical, funeral, educational, food, transportation and other support services, as well as a resource augmentation support for local government units.*
